Centre Pivot Fault Finding Training

The intent of the training day is to educate owners or their staff in how their centre pivots work. The training will cover simple fault finding techniques with instruction and practice on in field repairs. The course will be concentrating on Lindsay Zimmatic Centre Pivots, however for those who own another brand of electrically driven pivot, the control systems and fault finding procedures are similar & understanding how your pivot works will assist you in the field.
After the one day course you will be able, if you wish, to repair most in field electrical problems with your pivot, or be able to give the staff at TEAM Irrigation an indication of what the problem may be with your pivot, either approach will help keep money in your pocket.
The three most important tools for “Pivot Fault Finding” are commonsense, eyesight and an insulation tester “Megger”. We have organised to have “Meggers” available at the course if you wish to purchase one.

Successful cotton grown under Zimmatic Lateral Move Irrigators

Company Director, Bob Johnson recently visited Nulla Farming in Cunnamulla. TEAM Irrigation constructed 5 lateral move irrigators and one centre pivot on this property several years ago and continue to maintain the equipment. Irrigated land is 2700 acres.

Three lateral move irrigators are 696m long: the spans are designed to accommodate 12m row crop tillage equipment and with the bee line GPS tractor cultivator they get exactly 4 x 12m passes with the cultivator with no overlap, saving fuel and time.

Two larger units are 780m long. All units have a 3,500m run length: it takes approximately 36 hours to walk down the 3,500m during an irrigation run.

Centre Pivots Show Immediate Efficiencies For Dubbo Turf Grower

Traditionally, turf grown for commercial purposes has been irrigated using labour intensive hand shift pipes. However, Brett Sweeting from Turf the Lot Dubbo is now reaping the benefits of upgrading to Zimmatic Centre Pivots. Turf the Lot leases 2 properties, one with a 186m Zimmatic centre pivot on an 8 hectare paddock and another part circle 285m centre pivot on 14 hectares.Brett said “We are now using half the amount of water we traditionally used and the centre pivot efficiencies is saving us thousands of dollars in labour. Whilst the investment in the Zimmatic centre pivots is a costly initial outlay, labour savings produced by the centre pivot efficiencies pays for the capital outlay very quickly. For example I believe we are saving $2000 per month on labour costs on the 14 hectare property alone.”
